[Leslie] You will definitely want to listen to the call if you have not already, but for this chat I want to get personal and cover some really great stuff. Welcome, San!
[Leslie] First of all, please let us know why you are here today. What brings you here and what you hope to get out of the conference.
[Leslie] (Each of you, please answer if you don't mind)
[marniep] I always need a refresher.
[Amy] Still trying to put into practice the laws of abundance and growing my faith!
[piercejam] What to do to receive the blessings
[San] To build confidence in the Word and increased faith
[Leslie] Okay...
[Leslie] I sense that each of you have faith to some degree, at least enough to believe that there is more abundance you might be able to enjoy, and that perhaps there is something more to learn before you can tap into those blessings...
[Leslie] but think specifically of at least one thing you would like to have, do, or be that you don't already enjoy. It might be financial, it might not. If you can think of one thing, and can share it, please do that now. If you choose not to share, then at least say, "thinking...
[Leslie] " so that we know you are still with us.
[Amy] thinking
[Amy] Have a separate, attached house for my Mom
[San] thinking
[Leslie] okay...
[marniep] barn with fence, horses, chickens and goats.
[Leslie] Now as you are thinking about what you would really want, also think about why it is that you don't already have it. This chat is going to be very interactive, I hope. I want to lead you to the new ideas by asking YOU questions as much as possible.
[Leslie] So, Amy... why do you not have the house for your Mom right now?
[piercejam] get out of debt
[Amy] not enough money!!!
[Leslie] Marnie, what about you?
[Amy] and Mom is kind of stubborn! like mother like daughter !! LOL
[Leslie]
[Leslie] Okay, what is keeping you from having enough money, Amy?
[Amy] not enough self sicipline, i guess
[San] more success with school. And to be debt Free
[Amy] sorry\
[marniep] I don't have it because it takes money to build it... and I need to do other things like become financially free to justify the expense of it.
[Leslie] I am going to say something that might make you guys angry...
[Leslie] ready for this?
[marniep] my head's covered now... go for it
[Leslie] Actually, I should have probably established a relationship of trust first... but I think you will be really excited by the end of this conference at the newfound power and understanding you can receive if you stay with us on it...
[Leslie] lol, Marnie
[marniep] Well, I trust you implicitly, so if anyone trusts me... just transfer that trust over to Leslie.
[Leslie] You don't have what you want and you don't have the money you think you need because you are literally completely comfortable with the way things already are.
[Leslie] You might not agree with that...
[Leslie] but stay with me and let me explain.
[Leslie] Anyone mad at me yet?
[Leslie] Anyone there? LOL
[marniep] No, because i know it's true.
[marniep] although I've been increasingly irritated about where things are and things are starting to change...
[marniep] Amy's here... she just can't get it to send
[marniep] Hi Alanna!
[Leslie] well, one of my favorite writers is James Allen. In his words, "The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state... The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors; that which it loves and also that which it fears... Men do not attract
[Leslie] that which they want, but that which they are."
[marniep] They may be having trouble getting the Send to work... I'm not, but I know Amy is.
[Leslie] so...
[Leslie] how much of your time is spent being worried about the lack of needed money, compared to the amount of time spent thinking about the blessings you desire?
[marniep] too much... but I've been working on it.
[Leslie] That is such a trite question, but think about it.
[Leslie] The recorded call that I hope you all get to hear before it is replaced tomorrow discusses one of the basic laws of thought.
[alanna] hi all! can't wait to hear the call
[Leslie] It is based on the principle that everything around us, including ourselves is in a constant state of vibration. Down at the molecular level.
[Leslie] Welcome, Alanna!!
[Leslie] And only things and circumstances that are in harmony with us, will be a part of our lives.
[piercejam] I'm here.
[Leslie] So if we are constantly concerned about the lack of money, we are allowing our thoughts to put our bodies, literally, into a vibration that attracts like circumstances.
[Leslie] Now I've dived right into the meat of this concept. At this time I need to know what your questions are. And trust me, the call lays a very good foundation for understanding these ideas. So I encourage you to listen to that to help when this chat is over. But, what are your questions so far?
[Amy] How is this different from the basic positive attitude lessons?
[Leslie] Good question
[Leslie] what can you tell us about basic positive attitude lessons?
[Leslie] What have you been taught?
[marniep] welcome mary Ann
[piercejam] SOGR tells us to visualize what we want
[Leslie] Good
[Amy] well, if you look for the good, you'll find it .... try to see the silver lining ... etc
[piercejam] I seem to be caught on not seeing beyond today
[Leslie] Okay, good. It is good for me to know where you each are at with this...
[Leslie] Well, let me say that for the first years of my marriage, my husband and I attended no less than 60 seminars on success, classes that taught us the importance of keeping a positive attitude...
[Leslie] We continued to listen because we knew it was true, but we had no lasting success. We'd do better for a while and then slip right back to the stresses of financial lack...
[Leslie] I became discouraged and felt that I had to be literally PERFECT before I could enjoy the blessings I sought.
[Leslie] Anyone ever felt that way?
[marniep] yep
[San] yes
[piercejam] yes
[Leslie] Well, finally we attended a seminar that taught us basic laws of thought.
[Leslie] I went from feeling like keeping a good attitude was more than just a good idea, it was literally a spin off of the basic laws that were completely dependable.
[Leslie] I went from excercising a positive mental attitude and hoping it might make a difference, to having a positive mental attitude and KNOWING that it was causing things to happen on my behalf, even though I could not see any evidence of it.
maryann enters this room
[Leslie] And isn't that the hardest part: continuing to believe even when all evidence is contrary.
[Amy] yes, it's hard to have patience
[San] yes, and its hard to believe w/o wavering
[Leslie] If you have tried to operate with a positive attitude for any extended period of time, what were some of your obstacles to maintaining it? I am going to pause for a few minutes to give each of you time to give feedback on this question.
[Amy] negative feelings and fears keep creeping in
[Amy] you know the "I can't do this" syndrome
maryann enters this room
[marniep] The bills still keep coming in the mail and the bank balance isn't growing to match it... the physical "evidence" isn't supporting the vision (yet
[San] feeling overwhelmed and it seems impossible to get through it, so you start doubting that you will succeed
[alanna] other people influencing you
[Leslie] Let me describe a scenario. This is something you'll find on the call, but imagine you have just arrived in a new country and you do not speak the language...
[marniep] feeling like you're not "good enough" yet
[Leslie] you know nothing of the culture
[Leslie] you get off of the plane and walk up the ramp to the terminal at the airport.
[Leslie] Everyone is speaking a different language and nobody is paying attention to you.
[Leslie] Then from out of the blue, someone whacks you upside the back of your head and walks away.
[Leslie] You holler, HEY!
[Leslie] But nobody responds.
[Leslie] Before long, someone else whacks you in the back of your head with their open hand, and away they go, without a single word.
[Leslie] How are you feeling?
[Amy] paranoid!! scared!
[Leslie] LOL
[Leslie] anyone else?
[piercejam] mad
[San] confused
[alanna] angry mad
[alanna] like what did you do to deserve that
[Leslie] WHACK. Someone else gets you.
[Leslie] You look around and nobody seems disturbed by this abuse!
[Leslie] In fact, once in a while you catch someone else getting whacked and they are just as perturbed as you. But you notice it happens quite a bit.
[Leslie] You run over to another victim and you say, "what is this all about?"
[Leslie] And they say "I have no idea!!!"
[Leslie] Unfortunately, you are consigned to live in this new country for the rest of your life.
[Leslie] So you go around, trying to dodge the whacks.
[Leslie] But they keep coming.
[Leslie] You try to protest in the streets, but nobody pays any attention to you. Nobody will talk to you.
[Leslie] Instead, they sneak up from behind, and.... WHACK.
[Leslie] You endure this for years...
[Leslie] you begin to think (as a measure to simply keep your sanity) that this is just the way life is.
[Leslie] You try to help yourself feel better by saying things like "This is God's will for me. I guess I was meant to live in misery so that I will continue to be humble."
[Leslie] In fact, you are so, SO, conditioned to expect the whacking, that you live in dread anticipation of the next hit. You just KNOW it is coming.
[Leslie] And you've stopped asking questions because nobody will talk to you anyway.
[Leslie] Then a bunch of you victims get together and say things to each other like, "the people that don't get whacked are just lucky." Or, "They must be miserable somehow, nobody can have it so good and not be miserable in some invisible way."
[Leslie] This describes people in our world today that are so financially beat up, they have stopped asking why.
[Leslie] I believe God lets us experience pain so that we will formulate some questions and seek answers.
[Leslie] When we stop seeking answers, we stop growing and learning. There is an answer. Every question has and answer, by law.
[Leslie] So, take people in this head-whacking country:
[Leslie] One is resigned to misery, the other one is determined to discover the reason why he or she has been the victim of such irrational abuse.
[Leslie] I remember feeling like the pain and stress of financial bondage was like irrational abuse: I saw no rhyme or reason as to why I had so little while people with what I thought was a lot less going for them enjoyed abundance.
[Leslie] But I kept looking for the answer.
[Leslie] (Hence the seminars and $40,000, or so in debt - spending money on a seminar at the expense of a grocery budget, literally)
[Leslie] So the seeker in our story, realizing that nobody would talk to him, began searching literature. After a long and arduous search, he discovered the laws of the country were written in a book at the public library.
[Leslie] Upon further study, he discovered that there is a law that states: people must not wear a wristwatch on their left wrist. The consequence: ostracism, and whacks by law-abiding citizens.
[Leslie] Okay, I know the story is a stretch, but stay with me on this...
[Amy] LOL
[Leslie] Who has a watch on right now, and which wrist is it on?
[Leslie] (not rhetorical!!)
[marniep] don't have one on, but when I do I wear it on my left.
[Amy] I don't !!! Lucked out this time!!
[marniep] What about when we know there's a law against puttting it on our left arm, but we have such a nasty habit of putting it on that arm?
[Leslie] Okay, well the point is, that there are laws of abundance. As dependable as any other law of nature. The fact that you are participating in this chat tells me that you are one of those head-whacked people that are not content to believe that we are meant to live out our lives in financial bondage.
[Leslie] The most important part of abiding by a law is... to know about it in the first place.
[Leslie] KNOW that if you want to live financially free, you must put yourself into a vibration of gratitude and expectation that you will enjoy such a life.
[Leslie] We spend so much energy in worry, that we live in a vibration of lack. And God cannot (will not) deliver us from the consequences of living in violation of a law. Rather, He leads us to and teaches us the law, so that we can excercise our free agency to live in obedience to the law, or not.
[Leslie] So...
[Leslie] If we live in worry, and we are praying for financial relief, He cannot help.
[Leslie] "Doubt not!" "Fear not!" Sometime, go to your scriptures and count how often He says that.
[Leslie] I don't see it as a mere suggestion... I see it as a commandment. "Doubt NOT." I believe He would continue, "Doubt not, because if you do, I simply cannot give you what you ask for. Oh how simple it is, if you could only believe, then I could deliver you."
[Leslie] Problem is, how do we muster the belief in something we cannot see?
[Leslie] We learn the laws.
[Leslie] We learn exactly how it is that our thoughts have tangible effect on our circumstances. We learn that a thought is a thing. And when we hold a thought in our mind, the same creative process that created the earth is set into action.
[Leslie] I needed about $400 at one time in my life...
[Leslie] I prayed for it... and applied the principles we are discussing here.
[Leslie] Did I know where it was going to come from? No.
[Leslie] Is that my job? NO.
[Leslie] But I planted the seed, and prayed for it, and DID NOT ALLOW FEAR TO HOLD ANY PLACE IN MY MIND.
[Leslie] After all, what harm is there in believing?
[Leslie] Are we afraid of being disappointed?
[Leslie] We already know that doing things the way we've been doing them leads to disappointment, so really what harm could there be in trying to hold the faith all the way through to the end in spite of contrary evidence?
[Leslie] When I have a choice, I choose to believe.
[Leslie] Say that to yourself.
[Leslie] Thoughts of fear and doubt WILL come, but that is just part of the test. Pay them no heed.
[Leslie] So what about my $400?
[Leslie] Well, I had a mutt.
[Leslie] One day, I looked out my front window and saw two of the most beautiful dogs I had ever seen in my life, never knew any so nice existed.
[Leslie] They were full blooded, pure bred, Rhodesian Ridgebacks (although I had never heard of one before). I knew that they must belong to someone, they were too nice to be strays. So I carefully took them to my fenced back yard. Eventually I found the owner, but because of the little rendez-vous with my mutt, my mutt had puppies
[Leslie] And as it turned out, there were 5, one needed to be put down, and the other 4 looked just like the pure bred father. Each puppy sold for $100.
[Leslie] Do you think I could have invented that as a solution to my dilemma?
[marniep] LOL I wound't have!
[Leslie] There is an abundance. There is more available to humankind than we realize. We must BELIEVE in abundance. We must establish that as our truth: there is only abundance.
[marniep] It's kind of fun to see how things end up happening. They rarely happen the way I think they will when I use these principles.
[Leslie] We have lived the majority of our lives believing in lack, and we must really put forth emotional effort to combat old programming. But if you experiment with little things (like finding the perfect dress with certain features and for a certain price within a certain time frame), and you see it
[Leslie] work in the little things, you will gain confidence to put it to the test in the bigger things. And as we do this, I believe it will lead us eventually to have the confidence and faith in attaining salvation itself.
[Leslie] Isn't that the ultimate goal?
[Leslie] It will lead us to develop a sure faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
[Leslie] Do you see why Satan loves to keep us insecure in applying faith in our lives, in all areas, not just in religion? Because faith is a fundamental principle in succeeding in this test called life.
[Leslie] This is all for now, there's just not time to go into any more, but I will stay for questions and encourage you again to get all that is offered through this conference this week.
[Amy] Wow!!
[marniep] The classes we have will be covering all 7 laws.
[marniep] in a little different way than you've heard them before (if you've been to any of my classes on the subject)
[marniep] thanks Leslie! I really loved the wristwatch analogy!
[Leslie] how simple it is when we understand the laws.
[Amy] I feel like I understand it better now! Thank you
[Leslie] and how sad to live our lives consigned to misery. I picture God looking at us and just hoping, waiting, for us to discover them.
[marniep] I think the problem is that we don't ask specifically enough... We mainly just whine or complain, but we don't get down to *exactly* what we want and spell it out. If we don't ask the question, we're not going to get the answer - or recognize it if it's been given to us
[marniep] That story made me think of Ephesians 3:20
[marniep] "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"
[marniep] notice the correlation between the power that's in us and his ability to do exceedingly abundantly above...
[Leslie] Well, I am glad each of you joined me for this chat...
[marniep] Thanks so much for doing this Leslie! As always, I learned something new.
[Leslie] I really get excited about discussing these ideas and it always leaves me anxious to see them work once again.
[San] thanks so much. May God Bless all of you! bye.
[marniep] thanks for joining us everyone!
